Proposal details

The City is seeking feedback on the proposed installation of traffic management treatments on a section of Woodvale Drive, from Panzano Circuit to the City boundary.

The proposed treatments include installation of a red asphalt raised speed plateau, median islands with trees, a flush red asphalt median and an extended concrete footpath with associated pavement line marking.

To comply with Australian Standards, the speed plateau will also require upgraded and new streetlights, with kerbing and drainage improvements. These works are planned to be carried out in conjunction with the City of Joondalup, who will be upgrading traffic treatments on the western section of Woodvale Drive.

The proposed treatments are designed to help reduce vehicle speeds and deter hoon driver behaviour to improve safety for all road users and reduce both the frequency and severity of accidents.

While in some instances speed plateau treatments have been known to lead to an increase in vehicle noise, these treatments should reduce speeds and offset this impact.
