Dalvik Park Disc Golf Course update (October 2025)

1 October 2025

Between 14 July to 3 August 2025, the City engaged with local residents, ratepayers and community groups to capture feedback on the level of support for the proposed disc golf course at Dalvik Park, which is classified as a Neighbourhood Sport Park. The community groups included the Mindarie Football Club, Alkimos Baptist College and main park hirers.

In January 2025, the City received a User Funded Facility Upgrade Application from Sunset Coast Disc Golf (SCDG) to install a 9-hole disc golf course at this park.

A total of 730 residents were directly reached through letter drops, emails, and digital notifications, resulting in 231 people visiting the project page. The City received a total of 82 formal submissions — an 11.2% response rate.

Of those who responded, 78% supported the proposal and 22% opposed it. Submissions included 34 from Merriwa residents, 60 from City of Wanneroo residents overall, and 22 from outside the City.

Due to the high level of support for the proposal, the City is proceeding with this proposal. The next step is for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to be established between the City and Sunset Coast Disc Golf Club for the installation of the disc golf course. It is estimated that course will be installed in January 2026.

We appreciate all feedback received, as it plays an important role in shaping the future of our parks and public spaces. The City of Wanneroo remains committed to creating inclusive, welcoming environments that reflect the diverse needs, interests, and aspirations of our community.
