Project details

Following the completion of the Master Plan process for the Girrawheen Hub Precinct in 2023, the Council has endorsed an updated concept design for upgrading the precinct’s facilities.

We are now inviting the community to provide feedback on the proposed plans to inform the final detailed design.

The entire Girrawheen Hub Precinct is set for redevelopment, including the existing Hub building, Library, and Seniors Centre. This precinct serves as a vital space for the local community to learn, connect, and socialise.

The concept design aims to enhance existing facilities to better support ongoing activities at the Hub. It also incorporates valuable feedback from local residents and users gathered during the first phase of community engagement.

You can view the concept design on this page in the Related Documents section and the Interactive Plan Tab below.

Have Your Say on the Concept Plan

We encourage you to review the concept design and share your thoughts with us before close of business on Monday, 12 May 2025.

Please Note:

At the March Ordinary Council Meeting, Council has resolved to proceed with tendering for the construction of the Girrawheen Hub Redevelopment Project. This authorisation is based on the understanding that the tender award will remain subject to the allocation of funds in the 2026/27 Budget and inclusion in the next draft Long Term Financial Plan. This is an important milestone and reflects Council’s ongoing commitment to the project.

The tender submission period has closed, and evaluation of submissions is underway. The evaluation process is progressing well, and time is being taken to ensure we achieve the best possible outcome for the project and community, with tender outcomes anticipated to be considered by Council in October 2026.

The Girrawheen Hub Precinct is one of the City’s key advocacy projects and is part of the "Putting Community First" campaign.
