The City of Wanneroo has received a proposal from the Yanchep Community Men’s Shed (YCMS) to construct a community shed at Charnwood Park, on Lisford Avenue in Two Rocks (see site location map below).

We are keen to hear the thoughts and feedback from local residents on the proposal.

The size of the community shed is yet to be determined, however it is not anticipated to require clearing of trees. This proposal is still subject to the usual site suitability, planning, environmental and building investigations and approvals.

If the proposal is supported and the site is determined suitable, the existing Charnwood Masterplan will be amended to accommodate a community shed facility on site. The amended Masterplan will be subject to further consultation.

The YCMS is a community-led organisation that provides members the opportunity to participate in hands on tasks such as woodworking, metalwork and welding projects.

They currently operate on Mondays to Fridays every week from 9am to 12noon and alternate Saturday mornings for Ladies DIY.

The YCMS currently lease a Unit in Yanchep and are looking to relocate for long-term sustainability and an opportunity to expand their membership due to community interest.
